WEBINAR : The Dahlia Patch
May 7

May 7 with Jessica Staha
Our very own Jessica Staha will be speaking via webinar the attendees of The Dahlia Patch webinar on May 7.
“Using Beauveria bassiana as a plant growth stimulant”
Presentation Goals
The presentation will cover the recent introduction of biologicals by farmers and broader agricultural communities to provide support against changing regulations and the environment. I will discuss the advantage of biologicals over chemicals with a focus on the beneficial fungus Beauveria bassiana (Bbas). I will review the history of the organism as well as current research into its capabilities as an endophyte. The group will appreciate what a symbiotic systemic endophyte such as Bbas can do with a plant’s nutrient uptake, metabolism, and immune system capabilities. This will be especially relevant by providing people information on how Bbas supports broader plant health and resilience to biotic and abiotic stresses.
Presentation Abstract
Beauveria bassiana (Bbas) has been misunderstood for hundreds of years. Learn how this beneficial fungus grows within plants to trigger positive responses. Responses such as expedited germination, root establishment, stand establishment, nutrient uptake and metabolism, greater activity of the plant’s immune system, yield, and better-quality at harvest.
